After her internship with Margaret, Steph Larson worked for the Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters in Madison, WI during the 2004 election cycle. In 2005 Steph moved to Washington, D.C. to work first as the policy organizer and later as the policy director for the Community Food Security Coalition on issues related to local food, sustainable agriculture, nutrition and anti-hunger. In her duties with CFSC, Steph spent a significant amount of time advocating for programs in the 2008 Farm Bill.

In August 2008, Steph moved again, this time to northeastern Nebraska to be the Rural Policy Organizer for the Center for Rural Affairs. She works on a variety of issues, including health care reform, Farm Bill implementation, and small business policy. In her spare time, Steph dreams of having her own farm while tending to the garden she has growing in her yard.
