MESA - Multinational Exchange for Sustainable Agriculture
Napha is studying for her Master of Science in Agriculture, Major in Soil Science at Kasetsart University, Thailand where she formerly worked on the GIS database at the Department of Soil Science, Faculty of Agriculture. Napha’s goal is to be an agricultural researcher and an organic farmer.
“Since I have studied and had experiences in agriculture, I realize that the major career in Thailand is farmer and the agricultural product export is Thailand’s main income. Therefore, agriculture is very important for the economy and development of Thailand. I think the United States has a good agricultural system management and high technology in agriculture so that I would like to learn new agricultural techniques from MESA’s US Training program. This is a good opportunity for me to gain hands-on skills and experiential training at U.S. sustainable farms. Furthermore, I can take cross-cultural chances to share new insights and skills with my home communities.”
Napha traveled East Troy, Wisconsin in 2007 through the MESA program to work with Dr. Walter Goldstein in his high methionine corn breeding project. She returned to MFAI in March 2009 to continue her work in the MESA Next Level program for MESA steward alumni.
